Anant Anadi Vadnagar: Gujarat Government’s Revolutionary Initiative

Unprecedented Vision to Transform Villages through Cows

A Unique Blend of Heritage, Culture, Tourism, and Economy

From Simple Cowshed to State-of-the-Art Rural Laboratory

Gandhinagar, 1 November : Steeped in ancient heritage and globally renowned as the birthplace of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Vadnagar is swiftly emerging as a major modern tourist hub through integrated and holistic development projects.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, the State Government is developing Vadnagar into a global tourist destination under the ‘Anant Anadi Vadnagar’ vision. A key initiative is the Vrindavan Gauchar Park, the first of its kind in the country and envisioned as a global model, which will position Vadnagar as Gau Seva Tirthdham while fostering holistic village development beyond cattle care.

Government and Administrative Process Commences

The proposed Vrindavan Gauchar Park, estimated to cost ₹14.98 crore (Approx ₹15 crore), is currently at the proposal stage, with work initiated at the municipal, district, and state levels through the Urban Development Department. The State Government has already approved the project. The Gujarat Urban Development Company (GUDC) will serve as the nodal agency at the state level, while land acquisition and construction will be managed at the district and municipal levels.

Where will the Vrindavan Gauchar Park be built?

While the Government has launched numerous projects to highlight Vadnagar’s heritage and archaeological remains globally, it is also focusing on the city’s urgent challenges. One such issue is stray cattle, which the Vrindavan Gauchar Park aims to address permanently. This expansive park will be developed near Gaurikund in the Amarathol area of Vadnagar.

Gauchar Park Set to Become Major Tourist Attraction

The primary goal of this park is to clear Vadnagar’s roads of stray animals. It will provide grass, fodder, and water for cattle, along with a veterinary hospital for their care. Equipped with CCTV surveillance, the park will also feature a milk processing plant and a protective wall to prevent encroachment. Additionally, efforts to breed high-quality cattle will be undertaken. Together, these features will make Vrindavan Gauchar Park both a practical facility and a tourist attraction.

A model of cow-based rural development

The project’s vision encompasses not only cattle but the holistic development of the village. Its concept and goals position it as a model of ‘cow-based rural development’ for the nation, aiming to transform villages through cattle and spark a new rural economic revolution. More than a cowshed, it will be a comprehensive rural laboratory and cultural tourism center where tradition and technology unite. Developed as a ‘Rural Innovation Hub,’ this project seeks to advance the future of cows, villages, farmers, and cattle rearers alike.

Dairy Development, Employment, and Women’s Empowerment to Be Key Focus Areas

The project’s broad goals include: improving cattle health to increase productivity through timely treatment and better nutrition; increasing farmers’ income; providing direct economic benefits to cattle rearers through the sale of milk and dairy products; creating new job opportunities in veterinary services, the dairy industry, transportation, and marketing; reducing pollution and improving soil fertility through biogas and organic manure; achieving technological advancement through modern machinery and scientific methods; boosting tourism through the creation of new heritage and agro-tourism destinations; promoting women’s empowerment through active participation in dairy production and cooperative societies; fostering community development by encouraging unity and self-reliance in villages; and advancing agriculture by optimising the use of organic manure and natural resources.

Heritage, Culture, Tourism, and Economy Unite in New Initiative

This Gauchar Park will integrate with Vadnagar’s ancient temples, stepwells, historic forts, and heritage sites to form a new tourism circuit. Visitors can experience rural life, modern animal husbandry practices, and sustainable energy production firsthand. The park will emerge as a key hub for both agri-tourism and cultural tourism. Additionally, it will host markets and exhibitions showcasing local artisans, handicrafts, and traditional cuisine, directly boosting the local economy.

Gujarat Poised to Send Powerful Message to the Nation

Led by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and aligned with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Gramo Uday se Bharat Uday’ (From the Rise of Villages to the Rise of India), this project will demonstrate to the nation that the cow symbolizes not only religious faith but also drives economic, environmental, and social transformation. Upon completion, the Vrindavan Gauchar Park will stand as more than a facility for Vadnagar; it will become a defining identity. Vadnagar will emerge as a place where history, culture, development, and innovation coexist in harmony.
