Tourism Secretary Rajendra Kumar Holds Series of High-Level Meetings with Officials in Ambaji
Development Works of Rinchhadiya Mahadev and Teliya Eco Trail Reviewed; Key Directives Issued
Gandhinagar, 5 August 2025: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel‘s recent initiative to review high-priority projects is now being adopted by senior officials. As part of this, Tourism Secretary Shri Rajendra Kumar reviewed preparations for Bhadarvi Poonam Fair at Ambaji, which is scheduled to begin on September 1.
Bhadarvi Poonam Fair at Ambaji will be held from September 1 to 7, 2025, with an expected footfall of 35 to 40 lakh devotees. Tourism Secretary Shri Rajendra Kumar visited Ambaji to review fair preparations and inspect ongoing projects like Rinchhadiya Mahadev and Teliya Eco Trail.
Cleanliness and safety mantra for devotees at Ambaji Fair
Bhadarvi Poonam Fair at the pilgrimage site of Ambaji—considered a confluence of Shakti (power), Bhakti (devotion), and Prakriti (nature)—is jointly organised by the Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board, Banaskantha district administration, and Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust. In the meeting, the Tourism Secretary reviewed preparations to ensure strong arrangements for devotees, with a focus on cleanliness and safety.

In the meeting, essential guidance and suggestions were provided regarding the safety of pilgrims at the Ambaji fair, ST buses, electricity, crowd management, drinking water, temporary rest shelters, food, sanitation, healthcare, fire safety, etc. Special emphasis was laid on cleanliness, safety, and crowd control. The Member Secretary of Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board, Shri Ramesh Merja, conducted a thorough review of the temporary accommodation, parking, and lighting arrangements that the Board will provide during the Ambaji fair.

The Tourism Secretary discussed the responsibilities and planned activities of 29 district-level committees with Banaskantha District Collector and President of Ambaji Trust, Shri Mihir Patel, and reviewed the coordination between departments as well as the immediate connectivity to control rooms during emergencies. Ambaji Temple Administrator and Additional Collector Shri Kaushik Modi gave a presentation on the fair’s organisation.

Fair to offer accommodation, food facilities; temple premises to shine with lighting
Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board will make several arrangements for the convenience of devotees at the Ambaji fair. These will include toilet facilities at 6 locations, mineral water supply, first aid/medical counters, registration desks, rest shelter domes, free food shelter domes at 2 locations, barricading at 32 locations, and CCTV-equipped parking facilities for safety. Additionally, toilet and bathing facilities will be arranged at 15 locations along highways leading to Ambaji, 30 drinking water counters, and 10 medical counters will also be set up. In Ambaji town, there will be handicraft stalls, one-day cultural programmes, lighting of the main temple, its premises, Shakti Dwar and its corridor, lighting at town gates and roads leading to the temple, thematic lighting of Ambaji main road, D.K. Trivedi Circle and Circuit House Circle, and decorative lighting of Gabbar Hill Road, along with decorative installations and tree lighting, making the entire Ambaji pilgrimage area sparkle.
