Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation organized a cricket tournament for the first time between the teams of various municipal corporations of the state.
Gandhinagar, 05 February: The season of local body elections is going on in Gujarat. Voting is going to be held on February 16 for the elections of District-Tehsil-Gram Panchayats and Municipal Corporations-Metropolitan Municipalities. In such a situation, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel came on the cricket field in the capital Gandhinagar on Wednesday and played the bat.
Patel inaugurated the Gujarat Municipal Corporation Cricket Tournament played between the cricket teams of the municipal corporations by tossing the toss. This cricket tournament has been organized for the first time by the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.
A total of 14 teams, including the Mayors team of 6 municipal corporations of the state and the Commissioner Cricket Team of 8 municipal corporations, are participating in this cricket tournament. This tournament will run from 5 to 9 February 2025 at the cricket ground of IIT Gandhinagar.
Along with this cricket tournament, Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation has also organized a special box cricket tournament for women officials.
On the occasion of inauguration, the Chief Minister met the players of the teams participating in the tournament and wished success to all.
On the occasion of inauguration of the tournament, MLA Alpesh Thakor, Gandhinagar Mayor Miraben Patel, Deputy Mayor Natwarji Thakor and officials of the Municipal Corporation, District Collector Mehul Dave and Municipal Commissioner J.N. Vaghela, officials and officers of other municipal corporations participating in the tournament were also present.
